Since I can remember I have had a love for dogs and cats.
For several years I have volunteered with multiple different animal welfare and rescue charities, including Cats Protection, Rescue Remedies Dog Rescue, The Cinnamon Trust and Township Animal Rescue. I have successfully completed a course in Animal Behaviour and Welfare by The University of Edinburgh. I am Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid certified. I am also DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked.
Through my volunteering I have cared for and handled many different animals, from puppies and kittens to adult dogs and cats. I have also handled reactive and anxious dogs and cats. As part of volunteering overseas, I have become a committee member of the South Africa based charity Township Animal Rescue. I have volunteered in many different ways during my time helping charities, from technical and computer based services like graphic and website design, to physically caring for and handling animals and physical fundraising. For an entire week in 2017 I slept in a rescue dog shelter (among the rescue dogs in their kennels!) to raise funds for Rescue Remedies Dog Rescue, which was a great success, and as a result I appeared in the local Petersfield Post newspaper as well as in several other newspapers, magazines and other forms of media.
